Start where you are

You don't need to be fit, flexible or musical to start capoeira. Class is where you get those things. Your first class is free.

What you get

Why adults stay

Your own pace

Beginners and advanced students train together, and everyone works at their level.

A real game

Real technique: kicks, escapes and movement you can use in the roda, with a partner.

Music you play

You learn the songs and the instruments yourself, not just listen to them.

A community of friends

People who know your name, train with you and travel to events together.

A real class

What happens on the floor

1

Warm-up and ginga. The swinging step everything grows from.

2

Kicks and escapes. Worked with a partner, slowly at first.

3

Partner drills. With personal corrections, so you improve every class.

4

Song and roda. The circle where it all comes together.

Tuesday

Music & Percussion

Every Tuesday, 6:00 to 7:00 PM: learn the berimbau, the pandeiro and the atabaque, and the songs of the roda. All ages, all levels.

A real story

It is never too late

One of our students started capoeira at 63. A few months in, he walked into class smiling: that morning he had tied his own shoes, without help, for the first time in years.
