Games, music and movement from Brazil, in a class where your child is seen, helped and cheered on. Monday and Wednesday, 5:30 to 6:30 PM. The first class is free.
Balance, strength and coordination, built through play. A great base for any sport they choose later.
Every week they try something new in front of friends, and get better at it. Kids feel that.
They sing, clap and learn real instruments: berimbau, pandeiro and atabaque.
Capoeira comes from Brazil and is played everywhere. Your child learns Portuguese songs and meets people from other places.
Warm-up games. Running, crawling and animal games that get everyone moving and laughing.
Stations. Handstands, cartwheels, kicks on pads. Each child works at their own level.
A song. Everyone sings and claps, and some get a turn on the instruments.
The roda. The circle where two kids play the game while the group sings.
Classes are led by Mestre Mindinho with his instructors, and older students help the younger ones.
Nobody is forced to fight. Kids learn to move with a partner, not against them. Movements are taught step by step, at each child's pace, and the class is always supervised. A parent signs a waiver when you book.
Ages 5 to 12. Teens 13 and up join the adult class.
