Capoeira Brasil Palm Springs is part of Grupo Capoeira Brasil, in the lineage of Mestre Paulinho Sabiá.
Mestre Mindinho grew up in Rio de Janeiro. He started capoeira at 11 and was teaching by 17.
He joined Grupo Capoeira Brasil in 1994, opened his first school in San Diego in 2002, and has taught in Palm Springs since 2018.
Besides capoeira he has trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing, judo, wrestling and yoga, and studied at the National School of Circus in Rio. All of it shows up in how he teaches.
“A community of friends who help each other discover themselves and grow, through the lens of capoeira.”
Mestre Mindinho, on what the school is for
Instrutora Valente has trained capoeira for more than 20 years and taught it for 11. She is a medical doctor and has practiced yoga for 25 years, so she brings a careful eye for how bodies move and heal.
Classes are led by Mestre Mindinho with his instructors, and advanced students help the newer ones.
A clear schedule, clear prices, and a team that keeps things organized.
You hear about classes, changes and events before they happen.
Workshops, rodas and trips to meet capoeiristas from other places.
He loves this art, and you feel it in every class.
Grupo Capoeira Brasil was founded in Brazil in 1989. Our school teaches in its lineage, the lineage of Mestre Paulinho Sabiá, and the cords you earn here are Grupo Capoeira Brasil cords.
